Professional Learning Communities

鶹Ƶ

Teachers at 鶹Ƶ actively engage in Professional learning communities (PLCs). PLCs are an approach to school improvement where groups of teachers work collaboratively to improve student outcomes.

Professional Learning Teams meet weekly to collaboratively desgin learning pathways and units of learning for cohorts of students that address skills at their point of need. Teams participate in recurring cycles of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students within their year level. Professional learning communities operate under the assumption that the key to improved learning for students is continuous job-embedded learning for teachers.
